This Year's Project: Updated Baseball Gear
About Our Organization
The Miracle League of Sioux City is a 501(c)(3) that provides recreational facilities designed for individuals with disabilities to enable integrated play, promote acceptance and safety, provide positive experiences, and inspire laughter and joy for participants and their families. We are governed by a board of directors and are a member of the National Miracle League organization. Our facilities are open to all members of our community, but our Miracle friends are our priority. Located in the Riverside Park area, The Miracle League of Sioux City is the realization of a dream by many in our community. The park includes a rubber-surfaced baseball field, playground, 2 splash pads, mini-golf course, bocce ball court, We-Go-Swing for children in wheelchairs, buddy swing park, music park, walking path and concessions/restroom facility. Phase one of the complex was completed on September 12, 2015, and our latest phase was completed on October 16, 2016.
Current Project: Updated Baseball Gear
As we enter our 10th season, we are seeking the community's help in providing some updated basebear gear for our baseball players. We provide a league in the fall and spring and need new equipment to ensure the safety of our athletes. Your funds would provide new gear that would be used for years to come. Our athletes range in age and ability, and we want all to have access to what they need to play the sport they love.
Scheels Field Project
Project Details
The Miracle League of Sioux City will be constructing a second baseball field in the Spring of 2021. We have teamed up with Scheels and The Arena on this project. This field will be used by our Miracle League players among with Little League, SYA, travel baseball & softball teams. The Arena will also be running adult wiffle ball and kickball leagues. We are also adding a bocce ball court and a We-Go-Swing for children in wheelchairs to our complex.
Since our beginning in 2014, when our goal was to raise $400,000 to build a barrier free baseball field, to today where we are a $2.5 million complex (the largest Miracle League in the world) our community has been incredibly supportive.
We have already seen that same support as this project gets underway. Scheels has stepped forward as the title sponsor, the City of Sioux City has given a financial gift and ten other entities have also contributed over $400,000 of the necessary $650,000 for this project.
Please contact Kevin Negaard at (712) 490-0988 for fundraising questions. Thank you for considering a financial gift to our project.
