This Year's Project:
About Our Organization
Project Rehema Ministries is a Christian based, not for profit organization. Our primary goal is to minister to the many orphaned and vulnerable children of Tanzania by addressing their physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs through the examples of Jesus Christ. Project Rehema currently has 17 different homes/family units caring for over 100 orphans and vulnerable children in Tanzania, East Africa. Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world and currently has 2.5 million orphans.
This year, Project Rehema Ministries would like to raise funds to create small businesses for our Project Rehema families. We have provided this opportunity for many of our families already but as we continue to grow, we hope to provide these opportunities for our newer families as well . Some of the small business opportunities we have already provided and would like to duplicate are raising chickens, goats and other small animals. We have also provided small kitchens and supplies for them to be able to sell baked goods. Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world and helping to facilitate small business opportunities for them makes a world of difference in their daily lives. Not only do these opportunities allow them to help feed the children in their care but it allows them to earn money as well. This opporunity creates an environment where they feel they have a sense of purpose and it allows them to contribute back.
Water is Life
Water is life. Yet 768 million people do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. When water is unsafe, water can kill. Across the globe, every day, nearly 2,000 children die from diseases directly linked to unsafe water or a lack of basic sanitation. Project Rehema has already built 3 large water tanks out in a remote village in Tanzania and hope to do more by having at least one tank at each of our 15 homes. Each tank can hold 5,000 liters of life saving rain water. Project Rehema has also installed water lines up to some of the newer houses we have built so they have access to clean water but there are times when there is no water in the water lines. Our goal is to be able to build more water tanks at each of our houses that can store 5,000 liters of rain water in preparation for the dry/drought season. Sometimes women and children have to walk miles to collect water. Not only is it a hardship for them, it can also be unsafe for them as well. Water is one of the most basic necessities of life and yet so many do not have access to it. God bless you for your consideration of this request.
