This Year's Project: Saturday in the Park Headliner Financial Support - 2020

About Our Organization

Saturday in the Park is an annual festival that is held at the Grandview Park Municipal Bandshell in Sioux City, Iowa. Started in 1991, the festival falls on the Saturday closest to the 4th of July and attracts around 25,000 people from all over the Midwest for the weekend. Since then, SITP has continued to book top national artists such as the legendary Aretha Franklin, The Avett Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Phil Lesh and Friends, Chuck Berry, The Black Crowes, Counting Crows, the Allman Brothers Band, & Santana.  The Abe Stage draws over 5,000 people to that stage alone, strengthening the SITP tradition for the next generation of live music fans.

The festival coincides with an annual pilgrimage of representatives from Sioux City’s sister city, Lake Charles, Louisiana, adding a Mardi Gras-inflected Cajun accent. Saturday in the Park is one of the premier festivals in the upper Midwest and is best known for its eclectic mixture of musical traditions. .....AND IT'S FREE!

Current Project: Saturday in the Park Headliner Financial Support - 2020

The 30th Annual Saturday in the Park Festival will be held at Grandview Park in Sioux City, IA, on Saturday, July 4th, from 12 noon to 10:30pm.  Currently, planning is underway to create another memorable day in Grandview Park for 2020 and as the cost of headliners for large festivals continues to grow, we need to ask for your help and sponsorship so we can continue to present awesome live music for FREE at SITP.  Thank you for your consideration!

About Saturday in the Park:: Saturday in the Park is a free festival that draws thousands of music lovers from throughout the country. The 30th Annual Saturday in the Park Festival will be held at Grandview Park in Sioux City, IA, on Saturday, July 4th, from 12 noon to 10:30pm.  In conjunction with the Saturday in the Park Festival, The Mardi Gras Festivale and Big Parade make Sioux City one of the upper Midwest’s top tourist destinations for this weekend.

The festival is one of the largest one-day family-friendly events in the Midwest and offers a huge assortment of activities geared for children. Kid’s Zone is always packed full of entertainers, inflatables, food vendors and face painters to keep kids of all ages busy all day long! Arts Alley has more vendors than we can individually list, but we are proud of the variety, selection, and quality of the artists and designers. Featuring local and national talent, Arts Alley has always been the source for unique finds, handcrafted gifts, and festival garb. Saturday in the Park has a list of food vendors that will make your mouth water. The lineup features festival favorites such as turkey legs, gyros, ice cream and more.

The festival wraps up with a fireworks finale at the end of the evening.
