This Year's Project:

Saturday in the Park is an FREE annual festival held at in Grandview Park in Sioux City, Iowa. Started in 1991, the FREE festival falls on the Saturday closest to the 4th of July and attracts around 25,000 people from all over the Midwest for the weekend. Since its creation, SITP has continued to book top national artists such as the legendary Aretha Franklin, The Avett Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Phil Lesh and Friends, Chuck Berry, The Black Crowes, Counting Crows, the Allman Brothers Band, and Santana.  The Abe Stage draws over 5,000 people and has featured headliners including Sir Mix-a-Lot, Brother Ali, Arrested Development and a wide array of local hip-hop, rock, soul, EDM and more, building on the SITP tradition for the next generation of live music fans.

The festival coincides with an annual pilgrimage of representatives from Sioux City’s sister city, Lake Charles, Louisiana, adding a Mardi Gras-inflected Cajun accent. Saturday in the Park is one of the premier festivals in the upper Midwest and is best known for its eclectic mixture of musical traditions.....AND IT'S FREE!
