This Year's Project: Clubs That Fit!
About Our Organization
First Tee - Siouxland, also known as the Siouxland Youth Golf Association, is dedicated to youth development through golf in Sioux City, Iowa, and the broader Siouxland region. Our organization uses golf as a powerful tool to impart essential life skills and values to young people. Our programs are designed to build character, instill values such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
We are proud to partner with five outstanding golf courses in Siouxland: Green Valley, Floyd Park, Sun Valley, Deer Run in Hinton, and Sunset Pointe in Storm Lake. These partnerships enable us to provide top-notch facilities and experiences that allow children from all backgrounds to participate in golf—a game that teaches values for life and can be enjoyed throughout a lifetime.
Each year, First Tee - Siouxland offers valuable opportunities, including paid coaching positions, to area high school and college students. Our coaches serve not only as instructors but also as mentors in our Summer and Fall programming. They teach Siouxland children the fundamental rules and etiquette of golf while encouraging them to apply these lessons to their daily lives.
Our flagship program, the summertime Green Grass golfing program, serves over 700 children annually. Many participants receive scholarships to attend, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent a child from participating. This inclusivity was evident this year as we welcomed 24 children from the Winnebago Reservation, enriching our program with diverse perspectives and experiences.
At First Tee - Siouxland, we are committed to empowering young people through golf, equipping them with skills that transcend the course and prepare them for success in life. We are grateful for the support of our community and partners as we continue to make a positive impact on the youth of Siouxland.
Current Project: Clubs That Fit!
Using new and properly fitted golf clubs can significantly enhance a child's performance on the course compared to using older, donated, mostly adult-sized clubs. This improvement not only boosts their confidence in playing the game but also in themselves. Just as a new pair of shoes can help a child run faster and jump higher, new golf equipment can evoke similar feelings, leading to enhanced performance and overall confidence.
At First Tee Siouxland, despite being a small nonprofit serving nearly 700 children annually through our Green Grass summer golf program, we pride ourselves on a close-knit community where everyone feels ownership in our program. Our participants already take excellent care of our current equipment, even if it's older or not perfectly sized. With the same dedication, we are confident that any new equipment donated will be maintained well, ensuring its longevity and sustainability for many years to come.
Your support and donation to our cause would make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children. Thank you for considering supporting First Tee Siouxland!

SNAG equipment for indoor, year-round instruction
Project Details
This year we are hoping to begin indoor instruction during the winter months and we need your help! We are attempting to raise enough money to purchase the necessary equipment to provide lessons all year round. This equipment is known as SNAG (Starting New At Golf) equipment that is especially designed for indoor instruction. The SNAG school Kit will cost $3,595 and includes everything we will need to further our mission during the cold months of the year where teaching, practicing and playing golf outside is not an option. Please click here to view the SNAG equipment kit. https://shopsnagpros.americommerce.com/snag-school-kit.aspx
Thank you for your consideration!!

Golf Simulator for Youth Game Improvement!
Project Details
Morningside College has graciously dontated a used golf simulator to First Tee Siouxland. This equipment will be a wonderful addition for our participants. As an instructional tool, the kids will be able to enhance their learning of shot-making abilities throughout the year, especially during the winter months! The donations received during this year's Big Give event will go towards the cost of having a professional to disassemble, transport and re-assemble this equipment at its new home with First Tee Siouxland.
Scholarship support
Project Details
A large percentage of our kids/participants receive some form of financial support or subsidy to participate in a The First Tee program, either our green grass activities or our after-school programming at various sites and locations in, around, and throughout Siouxland. In order for us to continue to provide this subsidy - noting that NO child is turned away for inability to pay - we would like to seek funds to help support this scholarship and subsidy effort.
