Online Safety/Minor Sex Trafficking Awareness and Healthy Relationships Education
Project Details
The need to connect, feel affirmed, be valued and respected is a natural part of the human experience. And yet, many young people have not learned a healthy way to fulfill this need. They are bombarded with confusing messages through online activity and dysfuntional relationships about how healthy relationships work.
The consequences of this confusion are obvious in the exponetial growth of unplanned pregnancies, STD's, teen suicide, dating abuse, and our students being exploited and trafficked online.
Kim Smith, Her Health Women's Center's certified Healthy Relationships Educator, will be equipping and educating students in schools all over Siouxland to help guide them in making wise relationship choices for their online and in-person realtionships - thus affecting their lives today and their future success.
The money raised for this project will go toward materials and equipment to enhance and prepare Kim's Healthy Relationships presentations, as well as producing her messages to be available to students and teachers online.
Most importantly, the money raised will go toward educating and protecting our most valuable resource, our children, from the risks of online predators/sex traffickers and helping enhance their future choices in relationships that propel them forward toward successful lives.
