About Our Organization

The mission of the WCF is to enhance the quality of life for Wakefield citizens.   

The purpose of the WCF is to connect donors who care with causes that matter and to enhance the quality of life in Wakefield, Nebraska.

Humpty Dumpty Daycare is a nonprofit facility open to all children in Wakefield, Nebraska. 

The daycare is in a beautiful facility in lovely downtown Wakefield. The children spend treasured time playing outside on several play structures. The play area is carefully padded to protect the children from injury should they fall; however, the entire playground is in direct sunlight. 

This project will purchase a sunshade to cover much of the play area and shield the children from the sun's damaging rays. Sunshades can help keep playgrounds up to 20 degrees cooler. Lower temperatures reduce the risk of heat stroke, cramps, or exhaustion. Sunshades can help children enjoy the outdoors longer even on the sunniest days.

• Sunshades can help protect playground equipment from fading and premature damage and can help it last longer.
